Scott Bush is the executive director of the Samford Ministry Training Institute, overseeing more than fifty extension sites and supporting a growing network of directors, instructors, and students, all focused on ministry in local churches.  A retired Army Reserve chaplain, a prison ministry volunteer, and a pastor for over thirty years, Scott’s conviction that the faithful ministry of the Word transform lives has been borne out in every place he’s served.  Dedicated to the practice of ministry himself, Scott comes to MTI with a passion to prepare others for the same - to make disciples who make disciples (2 Timothy 2:1-2).

Scott holds the BA in Religion from Samford, the Master of Divinity degree from Beeson Divinity School, and the Doctor of Ministry degree from Covenant Theological Seminary.  In addition to his duties at Samford, Scott is the pastor at Southcrest Baptist Church.  He’s married to Rebecca and they have five adult children.
