Grayson Holbert serves as the Program Manager for the Spirit and Power Project at Beeson Divinity School. In this role he helps manage the project’s financial grant and partners with local ministries to further preaching education in the community and provide preaching opportunities for Beeson students. He also oversees content production at the Robert Smith Preaching Institute, which provides free resources on the theology, philosophy and history behind Christian preaching.
Raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Grayson completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama, where he first gained experience preaching in local churches in the rural areas of Tuscaloosa, AL, and the Lord grew his love for the church. From there, he headed back to Birmingham to study at Beeson, where he completed his Master of Divinity and served a short term as interim pastor at a rural Baptist church just outside of Birmingham. After his studies, Grayson served as an adjunct professor at 91果冻, where he taught classes in the University Core Texts sequence. It was from here that he came to serve in the position he occupies today.
Grayson is married to his wife, Lis. They live in the West End neighborhood in Birmingham, where Lis serves as a physician in training at Cahaba Medical Care. They are currently members at Iron City Church in downtown Birmingham. While they aren’t working, you can find them running on the local trails, drinking coffee around town, baking cookies and reading historical theology and science fiction.
